Actor Tom Rodriguez recently delighted his fans by revealing that he has welcomed a healthy baby boy into his life.
Tom emphasized that this joyous news was not something he had kept hidden from his fans.
"I'm not into hiding. I was savoring my life. If anyone asked, I would answer. No one asked," said Tom as he laughed when asked if he hid his baby during an interview with TV5 recently.
On having a baby, Tom said: "Great! I have a new source of inspiration. Like I said, I'm a new dad to a happy, healthy boy. He's four months old. I've never experienced happiness at this level, but he's my constant source of inspiration."
Tom added: "I keep saying before na tumatanda na ako. But after this, I don't feel it anymore. Parang, I feel younger and more vibrant."
The 37-year-old actor also revealed he experienced sleepless nights changing diapers for his son.
"I love it. Everything that it entails. Ang sarap. I've never been this energized. I'm happy to experience changing diapers," said Tom during the media conference for his upcoming movie "Huwag Mo Kong Iwan" at the Manila Hotel.
Tom mentioned that he didn't want to share more details about his family at this time.
"I'm very thankful for the work that I have, and at the same time, I love what I have in my personal life. I want to have a clear boundary. But there is some stuff that I want to savor, just for me and my family," he said.
On the lucky girl, Tom answered: "Sa akin na muna yun, but she's the same girl I've been with for the past two years.
"After the divorce, we met, and she was the same person two years ago. We're happy together.
"She had no idea about her past relationship. "She only had an idea after we met. She's private, and she's not Filipino. Walang siyang connection talaga sa showbiz," Tom also said.
Tom feels he is living a normal life now that his son has entered his life.
"Akala magiging disadvantage yun explaining how work is? But the advantage is that I get to live a normal life. I now have a clear distinction between my work and personal life."
Tom refused to reveal if his baby was staying in Manila or abroad.
"That's one of the things I want to keep muna. Wag na muna natin pagusapan yung baby," the actor said.
"But I don't want to hide. I don't want a life in hiding. People will see us. Hindi naman ako magmamaskara or magtatakip ng face. Eventually, people will see us around," he added.
Tom found it amusing when people speculated about him after his divorce, especially after he left the country.
"Once you find joy in that chaos, nothing can stop that. I go with the flow, and I resign everything to Him. Life goes on, and there are still other factors or problems. You go with the flow," he added.
Tom Rodriguez, Rhian Ramos and Jc de Vera star in the movie "Huwag Mo Kong Iwan" produced by Bentria Productions and directed by Joel Lamangan. The movie opens in cinemas on Nov. 27.
