Police Lt. Col. Anthony Grande, Himamaylan police chief, identified the victim as Armie Tuparan, 47, a resident of Barangay Carabalan and a member of Bantay Lasang in Himamaylan City.
Grande said the victim was visiting his adopted son in his house when five unidentified armed men arrived at around 10:40 p.m.
The victim was dragged outside the house by three gunmen and their two companions brought her son to the kitchen.
The son heard gunshots and saw her mother wounded on the ground with the gunmen nowhere to be found.
Grande said the victim sustained two bullet wounds and declared dead in a hospital.
Recovered from the crime scene were two fired caliber .45 bullets and two M16 bullets.
The Romeo Nanta Command of the NPA admitted killing Tuparan due to her being an alleged intelligence asset of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
