San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora expressed his gratitude to President Marcos and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) for starting the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program (4PH) in the city on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
In his statement, Zamora said he dreams of providing decent and top-quality homes for San Juaneños wherein they will not be too far away from their families and workplaces.
Most of our residents are just renting and do not have their own houses. Through the 4PH, they are given the chance to have their own houses and will no longer have to be afraid that someday, they will be kicked-out from the house they are living in)," he explained.
The 4PH will be a great help in making our dream of providing informal settlers here in San Juan a home they can call theirs. They can be transferred to our high-rise public housing buildings as the city doesn't have lands for horizontal development. The remaining vacant lands owned by the city government of San Juan will be allocated for the construction of high rise buildings under 4PH)," he added.
The 4PH was launched in September 2022 and is the national housing program of the country under the Marcos administration. Its primary goal is to have zero informal settlers by 2028.
The Marcos administration aims to build one million housing units annually which is intended to address the backlog of 6.5 million housing units of the country.
