Low-cost carrier AirAsia Philippines logged more than 6.6 million passengers in the first nine months of the year, already surpassing its total flown passengers for 2023, driven by a surge in bookings during holidays.
As of November 2024, AirAsia said it has already carried 79 percent of its 2024 target of eight million customers driven by an influx of provincial homecomings and an increasing appetite for leisure travel.
Its recently concluded Piso sale alone was able to sell a total of 165,000 seats, with Cebu emerging as the most booked domestic destination, and Taipei the leading international route.
Meanwhile, Boracay remains the top destination for overall bookings.
“With the busiest holiday season just around the corner, we are optimistic in reaching our passenger goal for 2024. This time of year is extra special for Filipinos as many are eager to reconnect with loved ones,” said AirAsia Philippines Corporate Communications Head Steve Dailisan.
“We are already seeing strong demand across both our domestic and international routes. We encourage our guests to look out for exciting holiday promotions, as we remain committed to delivering an exceptional travel experience that makes AirAsia the airline of choice,” he added.
AirAsia also provided tips for booking during the holiday season, including booking early for the best rates, keeping an eye on promotions, and being flexible with travel dates.
