Despite the UAAP season entering the knockout stage and the Green Archers needing Quiambao's service more than ever, Robinson understood the situation of his prized big man, noting that it is an honor to represent the country and compete against the best players in the region.

“But sa amin it’s a win-win eh… it’s just a testament of what this program is all about, you produce those kind of players that gotta get called up,” said Robinson after La Salle’s 63-54 defeat to NU Wednesday, Nov. 13, at UST Quadricentennial Pavilion in Manila.

“And ‘yong experience nila there we will benefit from it. So, it’s really an honor for KQ and DLSU to really represent Gilas [Pilipinas] in this [FIBA] window,” he added.

The tactician also acknowledged Quiambao's sacrifices just to don the national colors.

“[Again], it’s gonna be a win-win. Physically KQ is not going to be with us. But try to also imagine the sacrifice that he has to make,” Robinson continued.

“Sa amin that’s one of our contributions to our national program, and sabi ko nga minsan mangyayari ‘yong opportunity na ‘yon and it’s really no brainer to bring them there,” he added.

Indeed, the Season 87 MVP will learn and be more mature under the guidance of Gilas head coach Tim Cone.

Gilas will enter its training camp at Inspire Sports Academy in Laguna on Friday, Nov. 15.

“UAAP told us that they are going to have an adjustment for us, that’s why we’re ready to play our last game and give us a lot of time to adjust pag-balik ni KQ,” he added.
