Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte on Tuesday, November 12, led the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the Quezon City (QC) Hall grounds.

The city government has also opened the QC night market which was participated by 50 local businesses, it will be open from Monday to friday (5:00 p.m. - 12 midnight).

The night market showcases food and different items made by local businesses in the city.
Belmonte expressed her gratitude to the city government employees for the past year.
“This is just symbolic, itong lighting, because ang tunay na ilaw ng lungsod Quezon ay kayo ang mga kawani ng lungso…You are the light of our city (This is just symbolic, this lighting, because the real light of Quezon city is you, the city staff...You are the light of our city),” she said.
“Every time you serve our citizens with honesty and integrity, you are the light. To our rescuers na hindi na napagod dahil sa dami ng bagyo natin you are the light everytime you risk your lives for those who need to be saved (Every time you serve our citizens with honesty and integrity, you are the light. To our rescuers who are not tired because of the number of typhoons we have, you are the light every time you risk your lives for those who need to be saved),” she added.
“There is so much to be grateful for this year. Together, we are fulfilling the goal of making QC the best-governed city in the entire country,” Belmonte said.

The LGU also launched it first ever Christmas Animated Display that will operate every hour after 5:00 p.m. everyday.
