Police Lt. Col. Antonio Benitez Jr., head of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), identified the suspects as Mariel, 30, and Ronaldo, 23, residents of Barangay 20 here.
Mariel was tagged as a high-value individual and her live-in partner was a newly identified HVI due to the volume of the drug recovery.
Benitez said they are checking the background of the suspects detained at Police Station 4 to determine if they had previous cases.
Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Western Visayas, thanked the community for providing information to authorities that led to the arrest of the suspects.
“As we pursue the remaining individuals involved in the illegal drug activity, our collaboration and partnership is being strengthened together with other law enforcement agencies,” Wanky said in a statement.
