It’s been a long wait for automotive enthusiasts, but Tesla is now officially in the Philippines. Tesla’s entry into the local market signifies a bold expansion for the electric vehicle giant, marking a milestone in the automotive landscape with the launch of two highly anticipated models, Model Y and Model 3. Both models will be available for order directly from the Tesla website, with initial deliveries expected in early 2025.

The Model Y, globally recognized as the best-selling vehicle of 2023, is a standout option in Tesla's lineup, combining a spacious design with robust performance and safety features. This crossover boasts over 2,100 liters of cargo space with the rear seats folded, accommodating five passengers comfortably. Performance-focused drivers will appreciate the ultra-responsive dual-motor system, accelerating the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h in a swift 3.7 seconds.

The Model Y is available in three trims: the Rear-Wheel Drive with a 455-km range, 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds, and priced at P2,369,000; the Long Range with a 533-km range, 0-100 km/h in 5.0 seconds, and priced at P2,689,000; and the Performance with a 514 km range, 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, and priced at P3,299,000.

Tesla’s Model 3 compact sedan brings performance and efficiency with its extended range. Its quick acceleration and sleek aesthetics make it an appealing choice for those prioritizing performance in a smaller form. It reaches 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds and offers a maximum range of 629 km on the Long Range trim.

Model 3 also comes in three trims: Rear-Wheel Drive with a 513-km range, 0-100 km/h in 6.1 seconds, starting at P2,109,000; the Long Range with a 629-km range, 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, priced at P2,489,000; and the Performance with a 528-km range, 0-100 km/h in 3.1 seconds, and priced at P3,099,000.

Infrastructure and ownership Experience

Tesla’s new Experience Centre in Uptown Parade, Taguig, integrates the full suite of ownership services, from vehicle sales and delivery to servicing and support. Tesla’s Design Studio, also launching in the Philippines, will allow for extensive customization of vehicles, including exterior, interior, and feature preferences.

Charging Network: Supercharging

Tesla has committed to building a robust charging network across the Philippines, beginning with the first indoor Supercharger station featuring four chargers at Uptown Mall. The Supercharger network is designed to enable seamless, efficient travel, with Model Y’s charging rate reaching up to 250-kW, adding 120-km of range in just five minutes. Charging is priced at P19 per kWh, with an estimated full charge costing P1,140. The pay-per-use model provides a flexible and economical charging solution for owners.
