Guico suspends classes in Pangasinan as ‘Nika’ approaches


LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Gov. Ramon V. Guico III of this province on Sunday, Nov. 10, suspended classes on all levels on Monday, Nov. 11, as severe tropical storm “Nika” (international name “Toraji”) continues to intensify and forecast to make landfall in eastern Luzon.

Guico issued Executive Order No. 135, Series of 2024, to ensure the safety and well-being of students, teachers, and staff.

The suspension of classes will also facilitate necessary responses to the adverse effects of Nika, he said.

Guico left the suspension of work in public and private offices  to the discretion of local chief executives or management.

The northeastern portion of Pangasinan (San Nicolas, Natividad, San Quintin, Sison, San Manuel, Umingan, and Tayug) is under signal No. 2 as of posting time. The rest of the province is under signal No. 1.
