The Taguig City government announced the suspension of classes for Nov. 11 due to Severe Tropical Storm “Nika” (“Toraji”).
The suspension covers classes from Kindergarten to Grade 12, and Alternative Learning System (ALS) in public and private schools in Taguig.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) put Metro Manila under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1.

“Wind Signal automatically suspends in-person classes from Kindergarten to Grade 12, as well as the Alternative Learning System (ALS) classes, in both public and private schools in Taguig. Schools shall resort to alternative delivery mode of learning in accordance with the policies of the Department of Education,” the city government announced on Nov. 10.
It added, “PAGASA has placed the National Capital Region, which includes the City of Taguig, under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 due to the potential threats of Severe Tropical Storm Nika; which may affect the city with winds of 39-61 km/h in at least 36 hours or intermittent rains may be expected within 36 hours that could cause flooding and landslides.”
