Five candidates for governor in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao in the parliamentary elections next year recently thanked President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for his support.
FIVE candidates for governor earned the support of President Marcos in the BARMM parliamentary elections next year: Mamintal ‘Bombit’ Adiong of Lanao del Sur, Sultan Kudarat Mayor Datu Tucao Mastura of Maguindanao del Norte governor, Hajiman ‘Jim’ Hataman of Basilan, reelectionist Tawi-Tawi Gov. Ysmael ‘Mang’ Sali, and Talayan Mayor Datu Ali Midtimbang of Maguindanao del Sur.
The Chief Executive backed the candidacies of Sultan Kudarat Mayor Datu Tucao Mastura in Maguindanao del Norte, Talayan Mayor Datu Ali Midtimbang in Maguindanao del Sur, reelectionist Gov. Ysmael “Mang” Sali in Tawi-Tawi, Mamintal “Bombit” Adiong in Lanao del Sur, and Hajiman "Jim" Hataman Salliman in Basilan.
A Facebook post shared by Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) Assistant Secretary Jordan Bayam showed the President raising the hands of the candidates following a consultative meeting with them and Bangsamoro regional leaders at the Aguado Residence in Manila in October.
South Cotabato Gov. and Partido Federal ng Pilipinas national president Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo and Special Assistant to the President Antonio Lagdameo said they facilitated the endorsement as part of the PFP’s consolidation efforts for the elections.
The five candidates thanked Lagdameo and Tamayo for facilitating their endorsement that sought to unify leaders of the Bangsamoro region.
Also present during the meeting were Presidential Adviser for Marawi Rehabilitation Secretary Nasser Pangandaman, Mindanao Development Authority Chairman Secretary Leo Magno, and Maguindanao del Norte Gov. Abdulraof Macacua.
Macacua, also the chief of staff of the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces, has filed a Certificate of Candidacy for congressman of the third district in the province for the parliamentary elections next year. The district is composed of the towns of Sultan Kudarat, Kabuntalan Mother, Northern Kabuntalan, and Talitay.
Macacua is running under the United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP).
