Three armed men were arrested by operatives of the Parañaque City Police shortly after they robbed a house occupied by two Chinese nationals on Wednesday, October 30.
Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang identified the suspects as “Brian,” 38; “John,” 33; and “Jevic,” 29.
The police said the armed suspects reportedly barged into the residence of two Chinese nationals at the corner of Matthew Street corner Multinational Avenue in Parañaque City at around 12:30 a.m.
The suspects threatened the victims identified as alias Lin and alias Yu and tied them with duct tape.
At gunpoint, the suspects forced one of the victims to open the vault in the master's bedroom, where they took away P700,000 cash.
The suspects also took from Yu P280,000 cash and jewelry amounting to P400,000.
The security guard of the residence was also tied by the suspects with duct tape, but he was able to free himself and immediately reported the incident to the police.
According to him, the suspects fled on board a sedan towards Multinational Gate I.
Authorities promptly conducted an operation that resulted in their arrest.
The SPD chief said the suspects are now detained at the Parañaque City Police custodial facility. They were charged with robbery.
Yang added that follow-up operations are ongoing for the arrest of three other suspects.
