Marcos, VP Duterte join nation in observing All Souls', All Saints' Days

President Marcos has joined Filipino Catholics in observing the All Saints’ and the All Souls’ Days, which he said must give us the desire to become better for ourselves and for the country.

“On these solemn days of remembrance, I join Filipino Catholics across the globe in honoring the lives of those who came before us, whose faith, love and sacrifice continue to inspire us all,” he said.

“May these days of reflection rekindle in us the desire to be better, for each other and for our beloved country,” Marcos added.

Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte also penned her message for the public.

Duterte hoped that the observance of the All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days would focus on giving importance to the saints and on remembering those who departed.

“Sa ating mga pagtitipon ay ipagdasal natin ang maluwalhating kapayapaan ng kaluluwa ng mga pumanaw kasabay ng ating pagpapasalamat sa kanilang pagmamahal, gabay, at mga aral na ipinamana nila sa atin (In our gathering, let's pray for peace of the soul of the dead along and let's give thanks for their love, guidance and lessons that they imparted) ,” she said.

She also encouraged the public to remember the holiness of the saints who strengthen our faith in God.

“Idulog natin sa kanila ang ating mga pangamba at manalangin tayo na maibsan sana ang bigat ng ating mga pasanin sa buhay (We should impart with them our misgivings and pray that we unburden ourselves from our problems),” she said.

She asked for prayers for a peaceful and strong country against challenges that it is facing in terms of adversity, corruption and selfish interest towards greed and power of some.
