Man stabbed to death while sleeping in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A 46-year-old man was stabbed to death on Cawa Cawa Boulevard here on Wednesday, Oct. 31.

MAYOR John Dalipe and Zamboanga City police chief Police Col. Kimberly Molitas present Mohammad Miran, a stabbing suspect in Zamboanga City, on All Saints’ Day.  

Police identified the victim as Allan Utanio Almontero of Zamboanga del Sur.

Investigation said Almontero was sleeping when the suspects, Mohammad Taha Miran, alias Alijabar, and a 17-year-old boy, Najpalma Namla, alias Tutuh, arrived and approached the victim.

Miran stabbed the victim multiple times. The suspects fled.

Miran was arrested by the Zamboanga City Police Office Station 11 in a manhunt operation. Police presented suspect in a press conference at the ZCPO headquarters on All Saints’ Day.

ZCPO chief Police Col. Kimberly Molitas said the victim died from 12 stab wounds and his remains have been identified and claimed by relatives.

Mayor John Dalipe commended the police for the immediate apprehension of the suspect. Police are conducting a manhunt operation for Namla.
