Both Escudero and Romualdez enjoyed high approval ratings, scoring 65 percent and 62 percent respectively in the latest OCTA survey conducted from September 4 to 7, 2024.

Escudero said the results of the said survey bolsters his resolve to work even harder for the welfare of Filipinos as head of the Upper House.

“While we thank our people for their continued trust in me and the Senate, surveys are mere snapshots of our people’s perception. It will sometimes be up and may also go down,” Escudero said.

“However, up or down, we shall always be thankful for the support of our people and will continue to work even harder for our country,” the Senate leader added.

Romualdez also said he is thankful to the Filipino people who have put their trust in him and their approval of his performance as a lawmaker and top leader of the House of Representatives.

“I am deeply thankful to our people for this gesture, which will inspire us to continue to work hard and even work harder for them. Thank you for your trust and for your approval of the work we do,” said Romualdez.

“The ratings reflect not just trust in me but confidence in the collective work of my colleagues in the House of Representatives. Leadership is shaped by the strength and dedication of those who stand alongside it,” he added.

Romualdez further vowed to uphold his commitment to supporting President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.’s administration in its mission to “make life better for our people.”

“Our collaborative efforts are starting to bear fruit. Proof of this is that inflation, or the increase in consumer prices, has been falling. We will continue to help President Marcos to keep it down to ease the burden on our people, especially the poor,” the solon said.
