ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Police Regional Office-9 deployed 954 police personnel in the 226 cemeteries all over the Zamboanga Peninsula to secure All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.

PRO-9 commander Police Brig. Gen. Bowenn Joey Masauding said they, along with force multipliers from the military, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, advocacy support groups, and barangay tanods or watchmen, are deployed from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3.
The Zamboanga City Police Office said that over 500 security personnel will be deployed in 44 cemeteries here and bulk will be assigned in the 11 big cemeteries in this city.
ZCPO spokesman Police Major Albert Alfaro said that they will instill order on the streets surrounding and inside cemeteries based on two executive orders issued by Mayor John Dalipe.
No untoward incidents were monitored in cities and provinces in Region 9 as of Friday morning.
