Pasay City kicks-off P20 per kilo rice program

The Pasay City local government on Wednesday, November 6, kicked-off its PrEMIum Rice Program where citizens may purchase a kilo of rice for just P20.

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano led the launching of the program in coordination with the Eunlad Coop and Tingog Party List.

Around 500 residents were able to buy PrEMIum rice for five kilos each worth P100. Cooperative members were also given five kilos of rice during the event.

“Malaking bagay ho ang proyektong ito na sa halagang P20, isang kilo na ng bigas ang mabibili ng bawat isa. Hindi basta basta bigas, kung hindi, premium rice pa (This program is a very big help to residents because they are able to purchase premium rice for just P20 per kilo)," Rubiano said.
