Taxi driver shot dead in fast-food restaurant drive-thru in Pasay City

A taxi driver was shot dead following a heated altercation with two unidentified men in the drive-thru lane of a popular fast-food restaurant in Pasay City on Tuesday night, October 8.
Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang said Pasay City police chief Col. Samuel Pabonita identified the slain taxi driver as alias Andrew, 39, a resident of Pio Valenzuela St., Marulas, Valenzuela City.
The victim suffered gunshot wounds in the body and was declared dead on arrival at the Air Force General Hospital.
Police said the incident happened at around 9:40 p.m. at Newport City, Barangay 183, Pasay City.
According to the victim's companion, alias Dandy, 43, he accompanied the victim to collect money that was borrowed by someone from Andrew.
Dandy said they were at the restaurant drive-thru line when a Toyata Vios (ABT 4515) bumped Andrew's taxicab from behind.
The victim engaged the two occupants of the car in an altercation and a fistfight followed.
Dandy said the two car occupants later boarded their vehicle in attempt to avoid the victim.
However, the victim followed the two men. At this point, the driver of the vehicle pulled out a gun and shot the victim several times in the body.
Police said the suspects fled towards Saint Therese Church after the shooting.
The police launched a manhunt operation against the suspects.
