ILOILO CITY – Paolo Z. Roxas, the son of former senator and Interior and Local Government Secretary Manuel “Mar” A. Roxas II, is running for congressman in the first district of Capiz province.

“Ang mga handum niyo sa inyo kaugalingon, sa inyo mga pamilya, handum ko man. Nagahingyu ako sang inyo suporta para matuman ang aton mga handum para sa aton pinalangga nga probinsya (The dreams you have for yourselves and for your families are also my dreams. I ask for your support to realize our dreams for our beloved province,” said Paolo.
Paolo filed his Certificate of Candidacy as part of One Capiz party, a political coalition between the Liberal Party and Lakas-CMD.
He is the great-grandson of former President Manuel Roxas and grandson of former Sen. Gerardo “Gerry” Roxas Sr.
If he wins, Paolo will serve as congressman just like his father, his uncle Gerardo “Dinggoy” Roxas Jr., his grandfather Gerry, and great-grandfather Manuel.
Paolo was endorsed by Capiz Rep. Emmanuel “Tawi” Billones, a relative of the Roxases.
Paolo is running against Rep. Howard Guintu of Pinuno party-list.
