Northeasterly wind flow affects extreme N. Luzon

The initial blast of cold winds from the northeast prevails and affects the extreme northern portion of Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

PAGASA said the northeasterly surface wind flow may bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated light rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will remain partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

PAGASA warned the public against flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms.

PAGASA said the country is transitioning to the northeast monsoon season, locally called “amihan,” which may be formally declared in the coming weeks.
