GMA Network has addressed the controversy involving Julie Anne San Jose, who was bashed for her choice of songs and outfit when she performed inside a church in Occidental Mindoro.

Netizens bashed Julie Anne when she performed songs such as "Edge of Glory" by Lady Gaga, "Dancing Queen" by ABBA, and "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus in front of the altar.

Reports said that the song selection had the approval of the organizers. However, it did not sit well with the netizens who saw the video.

Julie's concert was aimed to raise funds for Heavenly Harmony in Concert (Harana para kay Maria) of the Nuestra Señora Del Pilar Shrine in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro.

Sparkle GMA Artist Center has issued an official statement on Julie's controversial performance inside the church.
