P3PWD Party-list nominee Rowena Guanzon has advised Filipinos not to vote for comedians in the upcoming May 2025 elections.

Guanzon gave this advice amid her rant on the quality of the certificate of candidacy (COC) filers for next year's elections, particularly the senatorial aspirants.

"Isa pa itong Willie Villarime . Huwag po ninyo iboto ang mga komedyante (Willie Villarime is another one. Please don't vote for comedians)," she wrote on Tuesday, Oct. 8, the final day of COC filing.

"Baka laos na kaya tumakbo senador (Maybe he's past his prime, that's why he's running for senator)," added the outspoken lawyer.

In the Philippines, it's not strange for celebrities like movie stars or comedians to run for public office. Countless such artists have won and led successful careers politics.

Guanzon is running for a seat in the House of Representatives under P3PWD Party-list, which is focused on uplifting the lives of persons with disabilities.
