DepEd teams up with SEC to enhance financial literacy, investor protection


The Department of Education (DepEd) announced on Wednesday, Oct. 9, that it has partnered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to enhance financial literacy in educational institutions.

DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara and SEC Chairperson Emilio Aquino signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA), marking the agencies’ commitment to promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth and investor protection.

Through the project “SEC Communication, Advocacy and Network,” DepEd and SEC will collaborate to promote the fundamentals of investing, financial literacy, investor protection, and awareness of anti-investment scams.
