Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang, the newly appointed director of the Southern Police District (SPD), paid a courtesy visit to Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano on Monday, October 7.
During the visit, which took place at the Office of the Mayor on the second floor of Pasay City Hall, Mayor Rubiano extended a warm welcome to Director Yang.
Yang, who previously served as Rubiano's chief of police prior to his current appointment, reaffirmed his commitment to the "smart policing" he initiated in the city. This project is set to be implemented across all police stations within the SPD, which is aimed at ensuring rapid responses to police calls and enhancing public assistance.
Following his meeting with Mayor Rubiano, Yang proceeded to the Pasay City police headquarters, where he had discussions with the city police chief, Col. Samuel Pabonita, and his team.
The SPD director underscored the necessity of fostering a safe environment for both residents and businesses in the city, with a focus on achieving excellence within the National Capital Region (NCR). He also urged the local police to adopt strategies that would enhance safety and security within their designated area.
