LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Reelectionist son and father Mayor Mark Victor Alcala and Roderick Alcala and their slate here filed their Certificates of Candidacy on Tuesday, October 8.

Also filing a COC for councilor here was the son of the late provincial board member and grandson of the late former vice governor – Ferdinand "Bongbong" Talabong Jr.
His father, former Quezon second district board member Bong Talabong Sr. died several months ago from an illness.
Ferdinand Jr., who is running under Lakas-CMD, owed to pursue pro-people ordinances.
The Alcalas were accompanied in filing their COCs by their family.
The elder Alcala completed his nine-year term in 2022 and substituted by his son in 2022.
Vice Mayor Shierre Ann Portes-Palicpic of Pagbilao, Quezon filed a COC for mayor on Tuesday, setting up a duel with sister incumbent Mayor Gigi Portes.
Palicpic, who heard Mass before she filed her COC accompanied by supporters, vowed to continue and innovate her programs and projects, particularly in agriculture, during her term from 2013 to 2022 if she wins.
