While he’s remained one of the best fighters from the Philippines even without a spectacular finish, he’s not sitting by idly as talks of his lack of killer instinct continue to surface.

That said, he wants to score a highlight-reel finish in his long-awaited rematch against top-ranked Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes at ONE 169 on Nov. 9 in Bangkok, Thailand.

“Yes, of course. It’s in my mind now,” the #3-ranked flyweight said.

“In each fight that I don’t finish my opponents, it bothers me really, and all I can do is to ask coaches [how to increase my chances of winning by KO], go back to the drawing board, and continue to learn.”

The Lions Nation MMA standout has been focused on sharpening his hands with boxing coaches Don-Don Colas in Manila and Tex Gonzaga at Tiger City Boxing Gym.

He knows that with a lot of exposure to different boxing coaches, he’ll increase his chances of improving his technique and power.

“Right now, I’m working with boxing coach Don-Don Colas to work on power. That’s what I’m working on today,” he said.

“That’s the reason why I also head to Manila to train with boxing gyms here to learn more.”

With that in mind, Kingad knows it all boils down to confidence as he plans to lay down everything he’s learned going into this fight against Moraes.

“It’s all about executing everything that I’ve trained for in this fight. As I’ve said, the goal in this fight is to knock him out,” he said.

“This is going to be a great fight. This time I’m looking for that knockout win. I’m going to get my hands raised afterwards.”
