Police identified the victim as Jun Quimbo, 40, of Barangay Darugao, North Upi, Maguindanao del Norte.

Investigation said Quimbo was with his wife and daughter at the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs processing their tribal marriage certificate when two motorcycle-riding men arrived and shot him.

The gunmen fled and Quimbo was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead. His family was unharmed.

Police recovered the suspects' motorcycle on Pensacola St.

Lawmen are reviewing closed-circuit television camera footages to identify the suspects.

An IP leader condemned the killing of Quimbo.

Timuay Leticia Datuwata said that Quimbo is an ordinary farmer and did not deserve the attack.

Quimbo was the 76th IP member killed in Maguindanao del Norte and Maguindanao del Sur since 2018, Datuwata claimed.

Police are conducting follow-up investigation and conducting manhunt for the suspects.
