BUTUAN CITY – The filing of Certificates of Candidacy in the Caraga region from October 1 to 8 was generally peaceful, the Police Regional Office-13 said.

“Base sa report ng ating field units at sa ating operation center, wala kahit anong insidente ng karahasan at any disturbance sa lahat ng lugar ng ating region,” PRO-13 Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said on Tuesday, October 8.

“As political exercise goes on, we remain committed to keep it this way and your police force spread in the different areas in the region shall continue to be vigilant, per order by our PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Alan M. Nazarro,” Ometer said.
“PRO-13 is fully committed to safeguarding the electoral process,” she stressed.
“While there has been no untoward incident, PRO-13 will continue implement extensive security operations across the region, including 24/7 checkpoints in strategic areas, and police visibility” Ometer added.
More than 3,100 police personnel were deployed in the region to maintain peace and order during the week-long filing.
