“We’re pleased to announce that until now (October 8) we have not received any complaints and crimes committed politically motivated and otherwise. We will maintain our security coverage in the region to ensure everyone’s safety,” PRO-11 Director Police Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete said.
Rosete said they have not received any reports of private armed groups or individuals roaming around during the filing of COCs from October 1 to 8. However, he assured that police are deployed to maintain peace and order in the region.
Since assuming on September 27, Rosete said he has been actively visiting each province in the region and conducted courtesy calls on local government units, provincial police offices, and the military to gather updates and strengthen coordination.
The PRO-11 director ordered all police officers to remain neutral and avoid involvement in political activities. “We must remember that the PNP is a nonpartisan institution and we must uphold the rule of law.”
