Over P90 million worth of cash aid had been delivered to 11,808 beneficiaries hailing from various sectors like healthcare workers, students, youth, and teachers in the Davao region so far this month.

This was reported on Sunday, Oct. 6 by the office of Speaker Martin Romualdez, which had joined forces anew with Tingog Party-list along with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) under Secretary Rex Gatchalian to facilitate the benefits.

“With the instruction of President Marcos, we will continue to deliver direct assistance to our people, especially with the good news about the inflation last month that eased to 1.9 percent from 3.3 percent in August and 4.4 percent in July,” Speaker Romualdez said.

“From the national level down to local officials, President Marcos is working very hard through unity and cooperation to deliver meaningful support and uplift the lives of the Filipino people,” the Speaker added.

“The Marcos administration is very responsive to the needs of our people, and it is our commitment that no Filipino should feel abandoned during crises. Tingog will always work hard to ensure that aid will be delivered to those who need it most,” Tingog Party-list Rep. Yedda Romualdez said.

For his part, Rep. Jude Acidre,  also of Tingog said, “Tingog, being a consistent partner of the Marcos administration in providing help to all sectors, will continue to champion efforts that bring tangible support to our people. Whether it is healthcare workers, students, educators, and others, they all deserve timely assistance.”

At least P91.955 million worth of benefits have been delivered to the Davao region through Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP), which is a flagship Marcos administration social intervention program.

House Deputy Secretary General Sofonias “Ponyong” Gabonada said an AKAP event was held in Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC) New Bataan Campus last Oct. 2, which benefitted 2,190 students. They received P2,000 each, for a total of P4.38 million in financial aid.

The event was attended by reelectionist Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr., Davao de Oro 1st district Rep. Maria Carmen “Maricar” S. Zamora, and other local leaders of Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) from the towns of New Bataan, Monkayo, Compostela, Montevista, Maragusan, Maco, Nabunturan, and Laak.

“This is the commitment of the Marcos administration and the House of Representatives under Speaker Romualdez's leadership in partnership with Tingog Partylist, government agencies, and local officials to continue supporting Filipinos in need, especially in the face of challenging times,” Gabonada said.

On the same day, Gabonada said the offices of Speaker, Tingog, DSWD, and other partners facilitated another payout at the Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) in Tagum City.

He said 2,288 beneficiaries received ₱10,000 each, for a total payout of ₱22.88 million.

Also on Oct. 2, Gabonada said a total of P56.09 million in AKAP funds were distributed to 5,609 beneficiaries, or P10,000 each, from the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in Davao City.

The House official said the payout ceremony was held at the Medical Social Service Building of SPMC and attended by key officials, including Dr. Ricardo Audan, Medical Center Chief, Atty. Oscar Mata, Chief Administrative Officer, Director Edwin Morata from DSWD-Central, and Gerry Ramirez, Social Services Head of the Office of the Speaker.
