Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan has released the Manila North Cemetery schedule for the observance of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day in November.

This would allow visitors to also prepare accordingly, noting that the MNC headed by its director, Yayay Castaneda, is the biggest cemetery in the country, which registers the most number of visitors annually.

According to the advisory issued by the office of Castañeda, visitors may undertake the cleaning, repainting and refurbishing of tombs or niches only up to October 25.

Cremation, meanwhile, will be suspended until October 28 while the office of the MNC will be closed from October 27 to November 3.

All services including cremation and interment will resume on November 4.

From October 24 to November 4, the main gate of the cemetery will be open from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. only.

The mayor said that from October 28 to November 4, all intoxicating drinks will be banned, along with pets, flammable materials like thinner and paints, guns, knives or similar objects, paraphernalia for gambling and playing of loud music.

She urged the public to start early instead of rushing to beat the deadline which, she said, will not be extended, the reason why the announcement was made this early.
