Pateros Municipal Administrator Gerald German resigns to run for mayor

Pateros Municipal Administrator Gerald German submitted his resignation letter in preparation for his bid to run for mayor of the municipality. 

“Admin GG is now signing off! Nagsumite po ako ng aking resignation letter at ngayong araw po (October 4, 2024) ang huling araw kong pagganap sa tungkulin bilang Municipal Administrator ng Pateros (I submitted my resignation letter and today [October 4, 2024] is my last day in my duty as the Municipal Administrator of Pateros),” German posted on Facebook.

Last August, German confirmed that he will be running for mayor with the support of incumbent Mayor Miguel Ponce III. 

Ponce is in his third and final term as mayor and submitted his certificate of candidacy (COC) as the second nominee of the Ahon Mahirap party-list, which is seeking to win a seat in the House of Representatives. 

German was elected vice mayor of Pateros for three consecutive terms and served from 2013 to 2022. 

His running mate in the May 12, 2025 national and local elections will be John Cerafica under the Team Good Governance Pateros. 

Comelec set the filing of COCs from Oc. 1 to 8.

“Una ang aking pasasalamat sa ating Dakilang Lumikha sa lahat nang pagpapala at biyaya sa ating buhay. Pangalawa, kay Mayor Ike Ponce na nagbigay ng tiwala at kumpiyansa sa akin upang maging Municipal Administrator ng Pateros sa loob ng 27 buwan. 

“Posisyon na aking kinagiliwan at binigyan ng kahalagahan sa dami ng aking natutunan na hindi ko naranasan noong ako ay kasapi at pinuno ng Sangguniang Bayan. 

“Salamat rin po sa lahat ng aking nakasama sa araw-araw na paglilingkod sa bayan mula sa mga kasamahan ko sa loob ng tanggapan hanggang sa iba't-ibang pinuno ng ating Lokal na Pamahalaang Bayan. 

“Natuto akong maging FULL-TIME SERVANT sa araw-araw na pagganap ko sa aking tungkulin tulad ng pangkaraniwang kawani kasabay ng pagharap sa lahat ng ating mga kababayan na naghahanap ng malalapitan sa kanilang mga pangangailangan. Napatunayan rin natin na tayo ay LOYAL PARTNER ng Administrasyon na handang itaguyod at ipagtanggol ang layunin ng ating mga polisiya, programa at proyektong pambayan. At ang pagiging HUMBLE LEARNER na palaging handang matuto at tinatanggap na hindi sa lahat ng oras ay pinakamahusay tayo.
