QC Mayor Belmonte condemns sexual abuse by school principal

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte strongly condemned the sexual abuse of minor students by a school principal on Friday, October 4.

“Mariing kinokondena ng lokal na pamahalaan ang umano'y pangmomolestiya ng isang school principal laban sa kaniyang mga menor de edad na estudyante (The local government strongly condemns the sexual abuse committed by a school principal on his minor students),” Belmonte said.

“Hindi namin kailanman kukunsintihin ang ganitong gawi (We will never tolerate such behavior),” she added.

Belmonte assured the public that the city government would conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and provide legal assistance to the victims to strengthen the case against the accused principal.

She also encouraged other potential victims to come forward to ensure that the perpetrator is brought to justice.

The mayor emphasized the responsibility of teachers and school officials to protect and prioritize the well-being of their students while in school, reiterating the city's commitment to safeguarding children's rights.
