Lacuna-Pangan acknowledged the contributions and sacrifices of the teachers in shaping the nation’s future by providing a solid foundation for young learners.
She emphasized that the educators bear the responsibility of nurturing the future leaders of the country in all aspects of nation-building.
“I call on everyone to salute our teachers not only during National teachers’ Day but everyday. Our teachers do not only contribute to the development, knowledge and skills of their students,” she said.
“They also contribute to the moral framework of all our youth who carry their learnings up to the time they become adults and later pass this on to the young,” Lacuna-Pangan added.
The mayor highlighted the significance of teachers, stressing their essential role in shaping, motivating, and equipping students for a successful future in achieving their aspirations.
Lacuna-Pangan called on both students and parents to take this chance to express their gratitude to teachers who act as second parents to their children throughout their school experience.
She urged the students to celebrate the day by showing appreciation to their teachers when classes start again on Monday, emphasizing that even small acts of kindness can greatly impact their teachers.
