Honda group begins electrification transition

Honda continues its commitment to becoming carbon neutral by 2050 with the unveiling of its lineup of electrification projects in the Philippines. Honda companies in the Philippines got together to unveil their new electrified products and their unified campaign to towards reduced carbon emissions. These unveiled products include a new e:HEV model from Honda Cars, the first BEV from Honda Motorcycles, and a new generation of power products. These new and upcoming models signify Honda’s commitment to carbon neutrality in the Philippines.

Electrifying an icon

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) is expanding its hybrid electric vehicle range with the introduction of its latest electrified model, the new Honda Civic RS e:HEV.

The Civic RS e:HEV redefines the iconic sedan in the age of electrification and connectivity. It also boasts the latest generation of Honda CONNECT, now with more features that allows the owners more interaction with their vehicles via a smartphone app. Google Automotive Services are also new to the Honda Civic, allowing for more personalization and let its owners add more applications that are useful and relevant in their everyday lives. Honda SENSING has also been given a significant update for enhanced detection for all road users, as Honda swears by its global slogan, Safety for Everyone.

Powerful two-wheel mobility

The Honda EM1 e:

Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI), distributor of Honda motorcycles, unveiled its first two-wheeled Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). The all-new EM1 e: is powered by the Honda Mobile Power Pack that uses a high-quality lithium-ion battery. It has an off-board charger designed to be removed and charged at home. Honda also takes pride in its high standards, earning the UN R136 seal of adherence to global safety standards.

This two-wheeled BEV is propelled by a brushless electric motor and brought to a stop with a front disc brake. Twin suspension returns a more comfortable ride and enhanced modulation. Other features include Standard Mode and Econ Mode Riding, LCD digital display, and an all-LED lighting system.

Compact, carbon-neutral, and eco-friendly, this model is also cost-efficient, with the ability to be charged quickly at home to support daily urban riding. This month, this electric vehicle will be available in Honda Flagship Shops in NCR, Cebu and Davao and in other Flagship Shops nationwide.

This, along with several more upcoming models, is set to further strengthen Honda’s x:EV portfolio in the country.

Battery-powered handheld products

Honda Power Products is also joining the shift with a new range of direct-current handheld (DCHH) battery-powered products for personal and professional tasks. These include products like an electric leaf blower, hedge trimmer, lawn trimmer, and chainsaw. The products are designed to be convenient and comfortable to use, due to their light weight, portability, easy operation, and lower noise output.

This range highlights a universal battery system, which allows users to easily swap and recharge the battery in moments without forced breaks. Their reduced noise output and low vibration make these tools fit for use in residential areas, hotels, condominiums, or small and medium-sized gardens. Users will also benefit from its zero-emission technology, low-maintenance features, making them ideal for both indoor and outdoor use in any facility. Moreover, this equipment does not require frequent periodic maintenance, which makes them even more appealing.
