BJMP: Alice Guo co-accused, 7 others detained at Pasig City Jail

BJMP releases 1,501 PDLs since March; records 1,151 PDLs infected with COVID

A co-accused of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo and seven others who also face similar qualified trafficking cases related to the alleged illegal operations of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (Pogo) are now under the custody of the Pasig City Jail, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) confirmed on Friday, October 4.

In an interview, BJMP spokesperson Supt. Jayrex Bustinera said that Walter Wong Long, Shicong Zhang alias “Olaf”, Huang Yue Hai, Ma The Pong, Wang Weili, Wuli Dong alias “Yousuf’’, Nong Ding Chang alias “Todd’’ and Lang Xu Po alias “Ah Xun” were taken by the BJMP from the Tarlac Provincial Jail to the Pasig City Jail Male Dormitory at around 11 a.m. on October 3.

“All PDLs have charges of qualified trafficking under Pasig RTC (Regional Trial Court) (Branch) 166,’’ Bustinera said.

Long is a co-accused of Guo in a qualified trafficking case before the Pasig RTC 167.

The BJMP official assured that “all PDLs were received following BJMP standard protocols on the commitment of PDL.’’

Guo was transferred by the PNP from Camp Crame, where she was detained following her arrest in Indonesia, to the BJMP-supervised Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory last September 23.

Initially, Bustinera said that Guo was supposed to be transferred to the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory on September 20 but the PNP was still completing the necessary requirements for her medical assessment.

The Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 167, handling Guo’s qualified human trafficking case, ordered her transfer.
