In anticipation of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, the Quezon City government will deploy personnel to public and private cemeteries, columbaria, and bus terminals.
Around 4,700 members of the Quezon City Police District will be posted in areas where public gathering is expected.
In addition, nearly 2,000 personnel from various departments in the city like the Department of Public Order and Safety, Task Force Disiplina, Barangay Public Order and Safety Officers, QC Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Department of Sanitation and Cleanup Works of Quezon City, Market Development and Administration Department, Traffic and Transport Management Department, and Bureau of Fire Protection will act as force multipliers.
According to QCPD Acting District Director PCol. Melencio Buslig, Jr., uniformed personnel have been deployed since October 29 and will provide enhanced security assistance until November 2.
Traffic enforcers from the Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD) will also be deployed; traffic enforcers will also be deployed near cemeteries, columbaria, malls, MRT/LRT stations, and transport terminals to ensure a smooth flow of traffic in the city.
The QCity Bus will continue its operations on November 1 and 2.
Meanwhile, the City Civil Registry Department released visitation guidelines in city-run cemeteries such as the Bagbag Public Cemetery and Novaliches Public Cemetery.
Visitors will be allowed inside cemeteries from 6:00 AM until 10:00 PM from Thursday, October 31 until Sunday, November 3. Interment operations are also suspended from October 31 to November 4.
The Baesa Columbarium and Crematorium will be closed from October 31 until November 3; however, all scheduled cremations will continue during those dates.
Similar to implemented policies from the previous years, certain activies and items remain prohibited during visitations such as gambling, alcoholic beverages, flammable materials, firearms and deadly weapons, smoking or vaping, videoke or any loud music/sound system, and painting materials.
Mayor Joy Belmonte hopes that this year's Undas observance will be peaceful and orderly.
“Tinitiyak natin ang kaligtasan ng bawat QCitizen at mamamayan na bibisita sa kanilang mga yumaong mahal sa buhay sa darating na Undas 2024. Nawa’y maging mapayapa at maayos ang paggunita sa mga araw na ito at hinihiling natin sa mga bibisita na sumunod sa mga patakaran sa pampubliko at pribadong sementeryo at columbaria sa ating lungsod (We want to ensure the safety of every QCitizen and citizen who will visit their deceased loved ones in the coming Undas 2024. May the commemoration on these days be peaceful and orderly and we ask those who visit to follow the rules in public and private cemeteries and columbaria in our city),” she said.
“Nais din namin ipaalala sa publiko na huwag mag-atubiling tumawag sa QC Helpline 122 tuwing may emergency, saklolo, reklamo, o anumang concern upang agad na matugunan ng inyong lokal na pamahalaan (We also want to remind the public not to hesitate to call the QC Helpline 122 whenever there is an emergency, call for help, complaint, or any concern so that the local government can immediately address it),” she added.
