Cebu Air Inc., operator of low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific, received three more aircraft deliveries this month, firming up its commitment to expanding route offers and enhancing service to its customers.
In a statement on Thursday, Oct. 31, Cebu Pacific said it received two A321neos and an A320ceo from Airbus this month, bringing the total number of aircraft orders received this year to 15.
The recent deliveries are part of the landmark purchase agreement that Cebu Pacific and Airbus signed last October 2. The agreement involves the acquisition of 152 new aircraft for $24 billion or P1.3 trillion.
Airbus NEOs are the latest generation aircraft, burning 15 percent less fuel per flight and producing less noise than the previous generation. The reduction in fuel consumption leads to a corresponding reduction in aircraft carbon emissions.
“We are excited to expand our fleet with these additional aircraft ahead of the peak travel season in December. These deliveries are a key part of our continuous efforts to expand routes and enhance our service, allowing us to better serve the increasing number of travelers," Cebu Pacific President and Chief Commercial Officer Xander Lao said.
Cebu Pacific launched new international and domestic flights last month, seeking to offer more destinations ahead of the upcoming Christmas holiday.
Beginning Dec. 1, Cebu Pacific will operate daily flights between Iloilo and Tagbilaran, Bohol; and thrice weekly flights from Iloilo and Daraga, Albay; and from Iloilo to Dumaguete, Negros Oriental.
It also introduced thrice a week flights from Manila to Chiang Mai, Thailand—its third route to Thailand so far after Bangkok via Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi airports.
Manila to Chiang Mai flights will operate three times weekly—every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
