A total of 1,601 law enforcers were deployed since Wednesday, Oct. 30, to ensure peace and order in the province.

Police Capt. Wilma Silva, spokesperson of the Negros Occidental police, said that 573 policemen, 747 force multipliers, and 143 augmentation personnel from the Philippine Army, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) were deployed.

Police Assistance Desks (PADs) were  established in cemeteries, terminals, and other strategic areas.

Beat patrollers and covert police personnel were also deployed to maximize security coverage.

To manage the traffic and secure the roads for travelers, road safety marshals and traffic personnel were stationed on major routes.

Force multipliers were mobilized to augment personnel to ensure the protection of people visiting  cemeteries.

Police reminded the public not to bring prohibited items like intoxicating liquor, illegal drugs, deadly weapons, gambling paraphernalia, loud musical instruments or devices, and flammable substances.

Commander Jansen Benjamin, head of the PCG-northern Negros Occidental, said that 138 personnel, backed up by Coast Guard Auxiliaries, have been deployed from Thursday, Oct. 31, to Nov. 5.

In anticipation of the heavy volume of maritime traffic, the PCG implemented proactive measures to ensure the orderly operation of sea transport facilities.
