Malabon LGU releases guidelines for Undas 2024

The Malabon city government issued the guidelines for residents who will be going to cemeteries on All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

“Ngayong darating ang araw ng pag-alala sa ating mga namayapang mahal sa buhay ay aming sinisiguro na magiging ligtas at magiging payapa ang pagbisita ng mga Malabueño sa mga sementeryo na nasa lungsod o sa pagpunta sa mga bakasyunan. Nakahanda tayo upang tumulong sa mga pupunta sa mga libingan ng kanilang mga kaanak. Sa ngayon, ang hiling lang namin ay ang kooperasyon ng bawat isa at sumunod sa pamantayan upang maging ligtas, maayos, at tahimik ang pag-alala ng mga Malabueño sa kanilang yumaong mga mahal sa buhay

The Tugatog Public Cemetery, Everlasting Peace Cemetery, San Bartolome Parish Cemetery, Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Ossuary, Immaculate Concepcion Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes Eternal Park, La Purisima Concepcion, and Sto. Rosario Parish Columbaria will be open from October 30 to November 2.

Malabon Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) said they are expecting more than 30,000 Malabueños to visit their deceased loved ones in the said areas.

Residents are reminded to bring food, water and umbrellas for heat and rain, it also encouraged Malabueños to plan ahead when they are going to different places for vacation and also not to bring their kids at cemeteries (if possible) to avoid issues such as missing children or injuries.

Visitors were warned that the bringing of liquor, sharp objects (knives, scissors, cutter, etc.), guns or any explosives, illegal drugs, loud speakers, portable stove or anything used in cooking are prohibited inside the cemeteries.

The MDRRMO also said that around 775 personnel from different city departments and volunteers who will be deployed to accommodate questions, provide psychosocial support, and other assistance to visitors(including solo parents, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens) ensure cleanliness, safety and integrity of infrastructure, and maintain peace and order in the area.

A total of 21 tents with information/help desks and medical teams near Tugatog Cemetery and the private cemeteries are on standby incase of emergency.

There are also seven ambulances pre-positioned in strategic areas to easily be accessed by city government personnel in case of emergency. Fourteen motorcycles wil also be used by security and traffic personnel to boost their efforts for the residents’ safety and security.

The Malabon Public Safety and Traffic Management Office (PSTMO) also implemented road closure along Lascano Street Corner MH Del Pilar starting Oct. 30-Nov. 2.

The vehicles from MH Del Pilar going to P. Aquino Street may take Plata street and turn left to Aluminio Street to reach their destination. Those coming from P. Aquino Street to MH Del Pillar may pass through Acero Streeet and turn right to Plata Street.

Parking of vehicles along the streets of Acero, Aluminio, and Plata in Barangay Tugatog will also be prohibited to ensure a smooth traffic flow during the commemoration of Undas 2024.
