SANTO DOMINGO, Albay – The local government entertained children here affected by severe tropical storm “Kristine” through a trick or treat event on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
CHILDREN participate in a Halloween trick or treat event in the town of Santo Domingo in Albay spearheaded by the municipal government on Oct. 30.
Mayor Joseling "Jun" Aguas said that the activity was part of the local government's psycho-social intervention for children affected by the storm.
Clad in Halloween costumes, children visited every department of the municipal government at the municipal hall and received candies.
Aguas said that three children won best in costume and awarded prizes.
Mart Ian Siapno, head of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, said that 2,579 families or 8,331 individuals were evacuated here during Kristine.
He said that Barangay Alimsog was among the barangays affected by flooding. Three-hundred seven families or 1,323 individuals were evacuated.
People of Barangay Alimsog were among the participants of the trick or treat event.
