Television host and Tutok To Win Party-list Representative Sam Verzosa continued his tradition of giving by awarding 30 food cart businesses to fortunate needy netizens from various parts of the country.

Sam stated that each food cart business, valued over P30,000, could allow beneficiaries to earn between P2,000 and P3,000 daily by selling siomai and gulaman.

"Gusto namin palaguin ninyo ito para makatulong sa pamilya ninyo. Negosyo rin ang ginamit ko para maiangat ko ang pamilya ko sa kahirapan," said Sam as he addressed the owners of the food carts during awarding ceremonies held at the Frontrow headquarters in Quezon City on Oct. 29.

Sam added: "Lagi kong sinasabi na tutulungan ko kayo. Gaya po ng aking kwento, ipapanalo natin ang kwento ninyong lahat. Hindi ito ang huli sa pagkikita natin. Ito ang una at susuportahan ko kayo paano palaguin ito at paano ibenta."

The fortunate beneficiaries were chosen based on their comments on Sam's Facebook page. They were emotional when Sam surprised them with a food business.

"Malaking tulong ito para sa kaibigan ko. Hindi siya nakapunta rito dahil nag-aalaga siya ng bata," said Crislyn, of Sta. Mesa, Manila.

Belinda, another beneficiary from Pandacan, mentioned that the food business would support her son’s education.

Aside from the pushcart business, Sam surprised the netizens with cash assistance.

"Napansin namin sa mga ibinibigay namin na negosyo package, ito yung pinakamadali. Steam mo lang ang pagkain, and triple ang kita mo araw araw.

"Marami na tayong natutulungan sa negosyo na ito hindi lang sa Maynila kundi sa iba't ibang lugar sa Pilipinas. Nakakatuwa na makakita ng mga tao na umunlad dahil sa kanilang negosyo," Sam also said.

This generous act of kindness is part of the congressman’s ongoing efforts to alleviate poverty and promote a culture of giving.
