PHO warns Bulakenyos about dengue-carrying mosquitoes in the rainy season
The Provincial Health Office (PHO) in Bulacan issued a reminder on Sunday, October 27, advising Bulakenyos to be cautious, as dengue-carrying mosquitoes are more likely to bite people with warm skin and those who are moving.

According to the Rural Health Unit (RHU) report, dengue is transmitted to humans by the bite of a female Aedes mosquito, which carries the dengue virus.
The Aedes mosquito typically targets warm, moving humans, often attacking from the side or back.
These mosquitoes breed in dark, stagnant water and tend to stay within a range of 50 to 300 meters from their breeding sites.
The population of these mosquitoes tends to increase during the rainy season, as stagnant water accumulates in scattered objects, creating ideal breeding spots.
