In a statement issued on Tuesday, Oct. 29, the PRC said it has delivered various humanitarian services to over 30,000 vulnerable individuals in areas affected by “Kristine.”

“Kristine brought immense damage to our country and our countrymen,” said PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Richard Gordon. “Our responses are still ongoing in 49 affected provinces,” he added.

Gordon noted that while the PRC has already served a large number of vulnerable communities, “our work at the Red Cross will continue until we’re sure that they’re fully recovered.”

Moreover, the PRC Blood Center dispensed 259 blood units in the Bicol Region: 120 units in Albay, 96 units in Camarines Norte, and 43 units in Catanduanes.

“It is important to let our partners and sponsors know where their donations go,” PRC Secretary-General Dr. Gwen Pang said.

Pang stated that the PRC is still accepting monetary support to continue its operations in the distressed provinces. “Now is the time to showcase our bayanihan spirit, a tradition we Filipinos are truly known for,” she added.
