MRT-3 prepares to heighten security measures for 'Undas' travel surge

The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) will raise its security alert level from Oct. 31 to Nov. 5 in anticipation of an influx of passengers during the observance of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, locally referred to as "Undas".

In an advisory, the MRT-3 management said the measure aims to ensure secure, organized, and comfortable travel for those returning to their provinces for the holiday observance.

To support this initiative, additional security and station personnel will be deployed to monitor and assist passengers as needed.

Ongoing coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP) will establish police assistance desks at all stations, enhancing the overall safety of commuters.

The MRT-3 will maintain its regular operating hours, with trains departing from North Avenue at 4:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and from Taft Avenue from 5:05 a.m. to 10:09 p.m.

The rail management encourages passengers to observe security protocols in trains and stations to ensure a safe journey.

"We have security personnel, commuter welfare personnel, and station staff ready to assist passengers throughout their trip. Passengers may also report any security concerns to the police assistance desks," the MRT-3 management added, reinforcing its commitment to passenger safety during the busy holiday period.
