Gold buyer shot dead in Kalinga

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A 30-year-old gold buyer was shot dead in Barangay Bulanao here on Tuesday morning, Oct. 29.

Police Master Sgt. Prodencio Atas, spokesperson of the Tabuk City police station, identified the victim as John Cabigat.

Investigation said two unidentified men entered the room rented by the victim and brother Jonathan.

One of the suspects, wearing a face mask, black T-shirt, and pants, guarded the door and the other in tactical pants waited for the victim to emerge from the bathroom.

He pointed a gun at the victim who shouted for help but was shot.

The suspects fled toward an overpass and the victim was taken by his brother to the hospital where he was declared dead. 

Police recovered an empty shell from the crime scene. Follow-up investigation is ongoing.
