Brunei has mobilized its Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) for the delivery of crucial logistical assistance to the Philippines following the onslaught of Tropical Storm Kristine.
Brunei’s Second Minister of Defense, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, attended on Oct. 27 the ceremony for the operation.
This came as RBAF deployed its personnel as well as multiple air assets to expedite the relief efforts and ensure that vital support would reach communities affected by "Kristine."
Brunei also in the past supported the Philippines in the aftermath of destructive typhoons, including Typhoon Yolanda in 2013 and Typhoon Odette in 2021.
During these crises, Brunei was among the countries that contributed significant financial aid to support disaster relief and recovery efforts, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
