The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) celebrates another achievement from its Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) as a former child beneficiary from Daraga, Albay, ranked fourth in the October 2024 Geodetic Engineers Licensure Examination (GELE).
Aaron Paul Millena Lolor, a graduate of Bicol University-Legazpi and a resident of Barangay Villahermosa, achieved a score of 86.6 percent in the GELE, according to a social media post from the DSWD Field Office 5 (Bicol Region) on Oct. 29.
Lolor was among the 650 successful examinees out of the 1,343 who took the GELE administered by the Board of Geodetic Engineering across various locations, including the National Capital Region, Baguio, Butuan, Cebu, Davao, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga on Oct. 17-18.
He follows the achievement of Sheena Mae Obispo, another former 4Ps beneficiary from Albay, who topped the Social Workers Licensure Examination held in September.
Another 4Ps monitored child, Khane Jevie Rose Solante Cervantes from Davao Oriental, topped the March 2024 Licensure Examination for Teachers in the elementary level with a rating of 92.4 percent. She graduated magna cum laude from Davao Oriental State University-Cateel Campus.
Since the DSWD began monitoring 4Ps children, it said over 36,000 former child-beneficiaries have passed various examinations, with 53 achieving top ranks.
Launched in 2008 and institutionalized by Republic Act No. 11310 in 2019, 4Ps serves as the national poverty reduction strategy, providing conditional cash transfers to poor households for up to seven years to improve their children’s health, nutrition, and education.
Under the program, each household-beneficiary receives a health and nutrition grant of P750 per month.
The education grant is P300 per month for children in elementary school, P500 for those in junior high school, and P700 for those in senior high school.
Beneficiaries also receive a P600 rice subsidy per month.
