Through the Business Permits and Licensing Department (BPLD), the Small Business and Cooperatives Development and Promotions Office (SBCDPO), the Local Economic Investment Promotions Office (LEIPO), and other department members of the Economic Development and Investment Board (EDIB), the Quezon City government has consistently hastened the city’s economic development through various programs, innovations, and system upgrades. These include the aggressive digitalization of permits and document processing, MSME development, and other financial and training support.

Mayor Joy Belmonte stated, “Tayo’y nagpapasalamat sa mga napakahalagang pagkilala na iginawad sa ating siyudad nitong mga nakaraang araw.”

As of October this year, the city has already recorded more than 9,400 new business registrants, nearly matching the total for the entire year of 2023.

Additionally, the Quezon City Birth Registration Online (QC BRO) program was named one of the ten winners of the 2024 Galing Pook Awards on Friday, October 25.

The awarding ceremony was held in Malacanang with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in attendance.

The QC BRO has alleviated the burden on families seeking to secure of their children’s identities at birth; over 59,000 children have been registered for free.

Institutionalized via City Ordinance SP-3198, S-2023, the program mandates all hospitals and birthing facilities in the city to adopt the QC BRO system, ensuring consistent and efficient birth registration.

This program also serves as a source of reliable data for many of the local government agencies, including City Planning, Health, Gender and Development, and Social Services.

“Ang mga parangal na ito’y matibay na patunay na epektibo ang mga ginagawa nating programa para sa QCitizens at para sa paglago ng ekonomiya ng ating lungsod,” Mayor Belmonte said.
