Public schools in Noveleta adopt modular learning due to storm damage

CAVITE – The local government unit (LGU) of Noveleta has announced a transition to modular learning for public school classes at all levels in response to the aftermath of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

In a Facebook post, Mayor Dino Reyes-Chua said the shift to modular learning will take effect from Monday, October 28, to Wednesday, October 30.

Private schools, meanwhile, are given the option to decide whether to conduct face-to-face classes or shift to modular learning.

The coastal town was one of the hardest hit areas in Cavite, with the Ylang-Ylang River reaching its spilling level and prompting the evacuation of affected residents during the storm's onslaught on Oct. 24.

Some roads were also not passable due to flooding and power and water services were cut, leaving many residents without basic utilities.

Clearing operations were conducted over the weekend, removing mud and debris left behind by the floods.
